Quinta Vergara
Quinta Vergara

Quinta Vergara is a park located near the center of Viña del Mar. The Vergara palace and the amphitheater, where the Viña del Mar International Song Festival is celebrated annually, are located here. The park has enormous gardens with many sculptures and has a series of exotic species brought from Asia, Australia and California.

Among the gardens of the park rises the Vergara palace, the house of Viña del Mar founder, José Francisco Vergara. Most of the furniture of the palace is European and with a great variety of styles with rococo being the most prominent. Nowadays, the building serves as Museum and School of Fine Arts.

The Amphitheater was built in 1963, after the success of the Viña del Mar Song Festival in 1960. It was rebuilt in 2002 and as of today it still hosts the festival editions.
